Overlooking the Rail Trail and Lynx Blue Line, Dilworth Artisan Station is an adaptive re-use project in the heart of South End in Charlotte. The redevelopment continues the transformation started by the previous owners of the 1920’s and 1950’s-vintage buildings into a 40,000 sq. ft. hub for artists, creatives, and innovators, with 30+ artist studios and businesses under one roof. Additionally, a 4,000 sq. ft. high-end cocktail bar has join has opened up in the project. The three-story building, constructed entirely of brick and beam, was originally a mattress factory and has seen numerous changes in how it served Charlotte and the surrounding area. It has been a hosiery and undergarment mill, a parachute manufacturer and even storage for soldiers’ cars during World War II. Dilworth Artisan Station sits adjacent to the Ascent South End and the 1728 S. Blvd office tower in pre-development.
