Erik JohnsonPartnerErik is a co-founder of White Point Partners with over 15 years of real estate experience. He focuses on asset management, underwriting, equity and debt structuring, and investor relations. Erik previously served as SVP of Finance for a publicly-traded student housing REIT where he was responsible for capital markets strategies, underwriting, asset management, and managing the joint venture and investor relations programs. Prior to his tenure at the REIT, he worked in J.P. Morgan’s Real Estate & Lodging Investment Banking Group where he advised clients on M&A transactions and raised over $6.5 billion of debt and equity capital. Erik began his career at Wells Fargo, where he provided large real estate firms with acquisition and development financing.

Erik received a Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and serves on the Advisory Board of the McCombs School of Business Real Estate Investment Fund at The University of Texas at Austin.
Jay LevellPartnerJay is a co-founder of White Point Partners with over 15 years of real estate experience. He focuses on sourcing unique acquisition and development opportunities in the multifamily, office and retail spaces. Jay previously was a Partner at Berkeley Capital Advisors, a boutique retail investment brokerage firm focused on the Southeast. During his 12 years with Berkeley, he successfully structured over 350 transactions with an aggregate value of over $800 million. Jay was very involved with lease structure and master declaration advisory, as well as 1031 tax deferred strategies. In 2012, Jay formed his own private real estate company which focused on the acquisition of well-located, underutilized in-fill parcels in high barrier-to-entry submarkets. Additionally, he has been active in investing in food and beverage concepts both locally and nationally.

Jay received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Urban Land Institute.
Matt McLanahanVice PresidentMatt brings considerable experience in leasing and brokerage, deal sourcing, development, underwriting and asset management. He was previously with MPV Properties, a Charlotte-based full service real estate firm, where he was engaged in general brokerage, development, construction management and real estate consulting. He began his career in real estate at Return Holdings, a boutique real estate investment firm focused on the acquisition and redevelopment of value-add properties across the Southeast. In this role, Matt was involved in deal sourcing, underwriting, structuring, asset manager and investor relations.

Matt received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and History from Duke University and Master of Science from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Matt also serves on the Charlotte ICSC Next Generation Board, the Board of The Corners Society and the Levine Children’s Hospital’s Board of Ambassadors.
