ERIK JOHNSON
ERIK JOHNSON
Co-Founder & Partner
Erik is a founding partner and is responsible for the firm’s capital market strategies, risk and asset management and day-to-day firm operations. He is a member of the Investment Committee, and along with Jay leads the strategic direction of the firm.
Erik previously served as SVP of Finance for a publicly traded student housing REIT. Prior to the REIT, he worked in J.P. Morgan’s Real Estate & Lodging Investment Banking Group where he advised clients on M&A transactions and raised nearly $7 billion of debt and equity capital. Erik began his career at Wells Fargo as a commercial real estate lender.
Erik received a Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a member of ULI and serves on the Kenan-Flagler Business School Board, the Advisory Board of the McCombs School of Business Real Estate Investment Fund and the Executive Council of the Texas Real Estate Center.

Jay is a founding partner and is responsible for the sourcing and execution of investment opportunities, project conceptualization and development strategy. He is a member of the Investment Committee, and along with Erik leads the strategic direction of the firm.
Prior to founding White Point, Jay was a partner at a boutique retail investment brokerage firm, where he successfully structured over 350 transactions with an aggregate value of over $800 million, and previously operated his own private real estate company focused on the acquisition of infill properties in high barrier-to-entry submarkets. Through his career, Jay has been responsible for over $2.5 billion of development and commercial real estate transactions across multifamily, office and retail sectors.
Jay received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is an active member of ULI and serves on the ULI Small Scale Development Product Council.
JEAN RANSHAW
JEAN RANSHAW
Vice President
Jean is the firm’s Comptroller, and she also provides considerable support to the property management and investor relations functions. She has over 20 years of experience working as a staff accountant for commercial and residential real estate developers and property managers. Prior to joining White Point, she was employed by Culp, Elliott and Carpenter, PLLC for seven years as a trust administrator for high-net-worth clients.
Jean received a Master of Business Administration from Kelly School of Business, Indiana University and Bachelor of Business Administration from Iowa State University.

Principal
Justin is a Principal and focuses on all aspects of underwriting and executing investment opportunities and asset management. He is also a member of the Investment Committee. Justin previously worked in J.P. Morgan’s Real Estate & Lodging Investment Banking Group where he closed on over $30 billion of M&A transactions and raised over $7 billion of debt and equity capital. Justin began his career at Clark Realty Capital, a real estate developer in Washington, D.C., where he focused on multifamily and mixed-use development, as well as military housing privatization.
Justin received a Master of Business Administration from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Bachelor of Arts in History from Duke University, where he played on the soccer team. He is a contributing author and member of the Urban Land Institute.
KEITH AMMONS
KEITH AMMONS
Vice President of Construction
Keith is Vice President of Construction where he oversees all aspects of construction, including, pre-construction, budgeting, operations, quality control and delivery. He was previously at Crescent Communities, where he oversaw the construction of a 750,000 square foot office tower in Uptown Charlotte. Prior to Crescent, Keith worked at large real estate service providers and a Fortune 100 company in similar construction roles. Over his 18-year career, he has led large operations teams and has personally overseen more than $1 billion in project execution.
Keith received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
MATT MCLANAHAN

Principal – Management
Matt is a Principal and is responsible for managing brokerage activities as well as sourcing and executing new investment opportunities. Prior to White Point, Matt was on the brokerage and development team at MPV Properties, a full-service real estate firm based in Charlotte. Previously, Matt was an associate at a Charlotte-based private equity firm, Return Holdings, specializing in value-add retail and self-storage investments.
Matt received his Master of Science from the Medical College of Virginia and Bachelor of Science in Biology from Duke University. He serves on the NextGen Board for Charlotte ICSC and the Levine Children’s Hospital’s Board of Ambassadors.
